Dealer Tech competition recognised at Employer Brand Management Awards
We are very proud to announce that our Dealer Tech competition won Gold in the category of ‘Best Employer Brand Management Event’ at the Employer Brand Management Awards on the evening of 15th September, an event organised by Communicate Magazine in the UK.
The awards recognise the excellent work of companies which are demonstrating a strong commitment to achieving the best for both employees and prospective employees. We’re delighted that the work we have done with the Dealer Tech competition has been acknowledged within this category!
A quick recap – Keyloop believes the automotive industry is an exciting and dynamic one, but the career opportunities are not well understood for school leavers and university students. We wanted to take the lead in attracting a diverse and younger talent pool into the automotive industry. Which is why, in 2020 we launched our first Keyloop Dealer Tech competition to encourage and nurture new talent into the automotive retail industry, focus on industry innovation amongst the next generation and spread awareness about the career opportunities available within the sector. The Keyloop Dealer Tech competition is targeted at students from leading universities across the UK and beyond and focuses on innovation and entrepreneurship in automotive retail.
In our launch year of 2020/21, we worked with six top UK universities with over 180 students registering to take part in the ‘pilot’ competition. Building on the success of its first year, we expanded the competition in 2021/2022, with 15 participating universities across the UK, Ireland and Canada. Student teams were invited to develop tech-focused product ideas to improve the car buying or ownership experience. Over 1,000 students registered their interest in the competition this year.
Being able to showcase our Dealer Tech competition, and our commitment to creating a bright future for the automotive retail industry has been really rewarding. “This was a great example of an employer brand event using multimedia to reach the target audience and gain additional PR,” said one judge. Others praised the targeted approach, the strong support offered to participants and the mentoring programme that was part of the competition. One judge also commended the “elaborate and strategic way to connect entrants with employees.”
We’re proud to support university students interested in the industry through our innovative annual Keyloop Dealer Tech competition. Visit www.keyloop.co.uk/dealertech to know more about Dealer Tech.
